 Left Brained? Right Brained? Or Closer To Center Brained?

Some of us have heard the right brain vs. left-brain theory before and have decided on a side based on certain traits and abilities we may have embodied at that time in our lives. Below is a graphic showing some of the traits and abilities associated with the different sides of the brain, take a moment and see if you feel yourself connecting with one side or another, my guess is most people will, but if you don’t, it’s ok.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You also could be Center Brained, in which the definition may seem obvious but will be explained here.

The Graphic clearly shows the theoretical strengths represented of each side of the brain, but this of course is a raw look at the possibilities of brain and the region they may originate from. So lets try to break it down just a bit more to look at the infinite possibilities that are in existence. First lets take a look at a spectrum that can represent the graphic above, and I will use the 180 degree chart with 0 degrees being Left Brained, 180 degrees being Right Brained and 90 degrees being Center Brained.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you notice there are liner and equal division across the entire 180 degrees marking each degree along the spectrum. Now imagine that between 0 degrees and 180 degrees of this spectrum there are an infinite number of points that could be charted if that were possible to chart, then we can start to see a more detailed view of the same idea. So lets assume we could analyze and plot how left or right brained we are: First example is someone who lands near the 0 degree mark on the spectrum, this individual would display extreme abilities listed in the left brained side and may find it very difficult to reach center brained and next to impossible to reach a far right brained position, the same can be said for someone positioned near the 180 degrees mark, they may have little chance of reaching a 0 degree position. But the mind can be altered fairly easily with drugs, trauma and psychological epiphanies, so anything is possible. But so far I have only been talking extremes, lets think about the infinite number that are moving toward the 90 degrees mark or what we have represented as the Center Brained mark. The individuals that plot along the way toward 90 degrees are starting to become less extreme in their strengths and views, and as we move closer to 90 degrees we start finding individuals that will change sides from a weak left to a weak right position or from a weak right to a weak left position, and this occurs mostly without their being aware of this. As individuals become aware of this they may try taping in to one side or the other for certain reasons that will benefit them. An individual landing at the 90 degrees position without this knowledge may find themselves always changing position but not sure why, or can easily argue both sides of a debate on one day, but take a stance on another day. As I mentioned there are an infinite number of marks that can be plotted which is why we are all unique and as individuals find their place in the spectrum and open up to their strengths that are available at that given time we can begin to place ourselves in the cutout that is ours in the infinite puzzle of life.
